Planning a Bat mitzvah

Invitations.
Who to invite.
What to wear? What do I care?
Priorities. What is important?
I used to be so judgmental. Now, I don't care.
Make it what she wants.
Decisions.
Money.
Colors.
Cost.
Making people happy.
Wishing I could just show up.
Disappointments.
Making her happy.
Wanting her to feel special.
Wanting it all to go away.
Proud.
Exhausted.Snapping my fingers.

Let me know when it's over.

I too am planning my daughter's Bat Mitzvah and as a single parent with little confidence in my Judaic knowledge and my lack of executive functioning skills (hers and mine) its quite challenging. Thankful to my community and friends for their support. You'll do fine and your daughter will be most grateful for it.
